My first Pizza
Have always been telling my little girl that if you make a promise, you have to keep it. *blushed* yet I broke one last week. Supposed to make pizza for lunch last Sunday but
I was not feeling very well, thus, feeling very tired and sleepy. So end up, I just cook simple lunch and that make
my girl very upset because she does not get to eat her fav pizza.
Feeling much
better this week, I decided that I should keep my promise and make pizza for lunch
today.
I know that
I do not have much time to spare in the morning to make the dough from scratch,
so I use “betty crocker pizza crust mix|”. This mix is easy to handle and make my making
of the pizza crust a breeze. It taste nice too.

I topped the pizza w black pepper chicken, ham, mushrooms, capsicums, sausages, eggs and lots of cheese!
My lil ones commented that this is the yummiest pizza they ever had, isn’t it sweet!! (^.^)

Flower Bun & Ham Rolls
My kids asked me this morning if I can make some buns for them to bring to school tomorrow. As I still have some white lotus paste in my fridge, I agreed. I remembered seeing this very pretty flower shape mooncake somewhere before so I thought it may be a good idea to shape my buns into “flower”.
After making all the “flowers”, still have some dough left, so I just ask the kids to flatten the dough, put a ham in the middle and roll it up. J
Here is the recipe for the Basic Bread Dough taken from Bread Code with a slight modification.
Ingredients A:
500g high protein flour
1 tsp instant yeast
Ingredients B:
60g sugar (will increase next time as I prefer sweeter bread)
1 tsp (5g) Salt (I omitted as I used salted butter)
1 tsp (5g) milk powder (I replace this with soya milk powder)
Ingredients C:
1 Egg
250g water
Ingredient D:
5og butter
Method:
- Put ingredients A in a mixer and blend at low speed for 1 min.
- Add ingredients B, blend for 1 min.
- Add ingredients C, blend at low speed for 1 min, then use medium speed to blend for 5 min until dough-like.
- Add ingredient D and continue to blend 10-15 mins till dough is shiny and springy (I didn’t use mixer so hand kneading will take about 30 mins)
- Use a wet towel to cover the dough and allow to leaven for 45mins till the dough doubled.
- Divide the bread dough into 40g and wrapped the white lotus paste, flatten and use a knife to cut out 5 openings.
- Place on baking paper, glazed with beaten egg and sprinkle some almond nuts in the center of the flower (additional step by me)
- Place into pre-heated oven, baked at 180 C for 20 mins.
- Cool on cooling rack.

Hammy & Cheesy Buns
今天想烘些面包给孩子们吃,Hammy & Cheesy buns!
~ before baking ~
Ingredients:
- Instant Yeast - 11gm
- Water - 120gm
- Bread Flour - 350gm(sifted)
- Milk Powder - 3 tbsp.
- Castor Sugar - 60gm
- Fine Salt - 1/2 tsp.
- Large Egg - 1 no.
- Soften Butter - 40gm
Method:
- Soften the Instant Yeast with warm water. Leave aside.
- In a bowl, Mix well Bread Flour, Milk Powder, Castor Sugar & Fine Salt, make a well in the middle, pour in Yeast Mixture & Egg, then mix them together to form a soft dough.
- Place Butter on the dough, knead butter into the dough & knead until butter has totally disappear, knead & spank the dough on the work surface until the dough has become soft & elastic, this process should take at least 20-30 minutes.
- Before proofing, pinch a small piece of dough for a stretch test, pull & stretch it into a thin membrane, if it doesn't tear easily, that shows that the dough is well developed, and now you can leave the dough for proofing.
- Place the dough into a mixing bowl or a big bowl, cover the bowl with a damp towel & let it proof in a warm place for 45 minutes.
- Remove the dough from the bowl, press out the air from the dough & knead into a long dough, divide your desired portion & shape them into small dough before wrapping.
